A heroine trafficking sting in a Chicago area suburb led to the arrest of four suspected drug dealers and the seizure of large quantities of illegal drugs. The arrests were the culmination of five-month investigation conducted by local police, a metro area narcotics squad and the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
During the initial three arrests, police seized substantial quantities of heroine, Xanax, Ecstasy and cash resulting in charges of calculated criminal conspiracy and unlawful delivery of a controlled substance. After executing several search warrants, the forth suspect was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana with the intent to deliver after cocaine, pot, heroine and cash were found at his location.
The suspects are likely looking at very severe penalties, which may include prison time and heavy fines. Heroine possession by itself, is illegal under state and federal laws across the nation and is a felony offense. Add trafficking to the equation, and the consequences are even more serious.
